Colorado Foreign Citizen Criminal Defense Lawyer

Dedicated, Hard-Working Criminal Defense Lawyers for Non-U.S. Citizens

If you are a non-U.S. citizen living in Colorado legally or illegally and charged with a criminal offense, you face serious consequences including loss of status and forcible removal from the United Stats. Some crimes may prevent your firm ever obtaining lawful status in the United States even if they are minor offenses. However, you have options. Do not give up. Call the Denver immigration lawyers at Bull & Davies, P.C., to talk to us about your legal options.

You or Your Family Member Has Been Arrested. Now What?

After an arrest, you will be placed on an immigration hold. We will meet with you and your family and demand that I.C.E. provide a reason for your arrest and continued detention. We will analyze your case and determine whether you qualify to be released on bond and are able to obtain relief from deportation or any other lawful status. Bonds are set on a case by case basis by a government official that does not know you. Our job is to show them that even though you may have made a mistake, that you are not a dangerous person and will answer to the jurisdiction of the court. We will fight on your behalf to gain your release on the lowest bond possible. Strategies include presenting evidence of your work status, medical needs, visa or green card application already on record and what your incarceration means to the family unit.

Once free on bond, a deportation/removal hearing is typically set at a future date. Criminal convictions may affect your bond and your ability to obtain or maintain your lawful status.

Your Arrest May Be an Opportunity to Pursue US Residency or other forms of protection or maintain your legal status.

  • After your arrest, there are often options that you can present to an immigration Judge. Cancellation of removal (deportation) is an application defending you from deportation if you demonstrate that you meet the criteria.
  • You may also qualify for adjustment of status with a family based or employment petition, a U-visa, Temporary Protected Status, or asylum before an Immigration Judge.
